    Description

    This is a PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE YELLOW WARE HANDLE PITCHER WITHE 3 FINE BLUE BANDS.... see images.  Pictures are in quarter turns and with and without flash for contrast and clarity. I've had this piece for over 20 years...
    This pitcher has GREAT form with throw grooves all down the body, a beautiful hand applied handle, three fine hand painted blue bands and a finished partially glazed bottom. It has glaze imperfections, firing imperfections and crazing throughout . It has no apparent cracks and is SOLID at over 3lbs. It has the obvious glaze glob down the loss side but actually looks GREAT from one side. I think the loss started early (none recent) with three different shade to the different areas (handle, rim and "back"). I believe it tells a story about the age of the piece, which I also believe is at least 150 years, possibly older. I think it actually could be colonial, late 1700's... You must be the judge. I LOVE this piece!!!
    Measures approx. 7.75"h x 7"w (spout to handle) x 6"w (base) x 5.25"(rim).
