    Description

Gretsch 1972 Hollow-body Chet Atkins Model. Marked Chet Atkins, not Super Chet!. This guitar is kinda rare, being a 1972, and marked Chet Atkins on the pickguard, not super Chet. I think they made that change in 1976.  My guitar book says it is the fanciest guitar that Gretsch ever made, when it comes to the inlay work. As you can see in the pictures, the guitar does need much of the white binding to be replaced, but that is very common on a Gretsch guitar of this age or older. That work would probably cost between 500 to 1000 dollars, depending on who gives you a bid. I looked up the process on Youtube, and it doesn't really look very hard to do. It requires a heat gun, glue, binding, and tape to secure the binding as it drys, as well as blue painters tape to protect the finish on the guitar sides. If you need more pictures,  just ask. Speaking of the finish, it is a very beautiful color, but the top of the guitar has been faded by sunlight. You can tell because underneath the pickguard and the tail piece, the finish is darker. The guitar comes with a newer gator soft shell / hard shell case. A very fine investment,  and i feel i have priced the guitar to reflect the work required. Free shipping. Later,  Bill
