    Description

    Historical,
Vintage Washburn Lyon's & Healy Parlor Guitar
    from
The First Family Country Bluegrass Gospel Group
1927 was the beginning of country music's first gospel group, The Morris Family. The Original Morris Family band included Rev. Frank Morris, who played the mandolin, Fanny Lou Morris Ringeisen, who played the guitar, and Girlie Jean Morris who played the banjo. Fanny Lou Morris Ringeisen, contributed much to the early sound of the Morris family. She borrowed twenty-five dollars to purchase this Washburn guitar to play in the band.
Over time, additional family joined in, and the award winning group is still current and now known as Morris Brothers Gospel Bluegrass. Historical photos on the Morris Brothers website picture the original family group with Fanny Lou playing the Washburn guitar being offered here. Guitar obtained direct from the family estate.
Guitar plays great with correct tonality and is in good overall condition, but does show some scrapes and bruises after at least 92 years. Not sure if Fanny Lou purchased it new, or used in 1927.
