THE ITEM DESCRIPTION: Lot of 3 Mickey Mouse Dixon pencil box items. (1)
The card is advertising a School Sale of Dixon's Mickey Mouse pencil boxes. It
is a die cut figure of Mickey Mouse in his well known pose with 1 hand out & the other on his hip. 5” high & 4” wide at the bottom. The figural card has the message  “Have you seen the Mickey Mouse pencil boxes at the big school sale?” The Dixon name does not appear on the card but they were the only company making a MM pencil box in the 1930s. This card was once glued into an album or something similar & there are small bits of paper stuck to the blank back. Card is stained in a few places & creased at the wrist. Someone wrote the date 1933 on the bottom edge & this looks like it was done 88 years ago. (2)
10” Mickey Mouse wood ruler printed in red is by Dixon & marked Walt Disney Ent. Circa 1934. The ruler is too long for the pencil box which would have held an 8" ruler. Excellent condition. The red color is fairly light but original & not faded. (3)
Mickey Mouse Dixon pencil box #4242.
[Please note the case is GREEN but photographs blue with the flash off. I show images in both colors. This appears to be unique to green which will photograph blue with flash off]. Dixon 4242 is GREEN in color featuring an image of Mickey Mouse the bandleader leading his pals Minnie, Donald & Pluto. The snap closure case designed to hold a large variety of school supplies measures 9 3/4” by 4 1/2” by 2”. It has a plain gold paper & blue interior with 2 pull out drawers like a chest. Shows wear & use especially on the top & edges. The Dixon number 4242 is hidden under the closure/flap along with the copyright WD Enterprises. There are no Disney images on the back, the sides or the interior. 063021/98ACE(7)
