Noble EG 686 2HT 1968 Playable Rare Project Guitar Natural Wood Good Shape. Teisco era MIJ JapaneseThis is one of the Japan-made Mosrite-type guitars, specifically the Combo, imported to the US. These are quite rare and unusual. The jagged, offset body shape is distinctive. I got this to refinish/restore but am now focusing on other brands. This is a guitar that is ready to play as it is. It had the original finish stripped and was clear-coated gloss. Some cracks were repaired and all are solid and tight. The pickups are obvious replacements and I'm not sure about the bridge. Since these guitars were made in the Teisco realm the Tremolo tailpiece looks original. It's mounted bar should be replaced with correct mounting hardware. The pickups could be easily replaced with Mosrite-style The neck is straight and the frets all look good. Note the "N" fret marker inlays. The action is low and plays very easily. The off-white binding throughout is in good condition. Any badges or labels are long-gone. These pickups actually sound quite nice and the guitar resonates well also.
This guitar lower bout is 16" across and length over all, about 41". Scale length is 24 3/4" with a 1 5/8" nut width. The zero fret is often appreciated for more even tones. The German-carved wood top is a feature not often seen in this era of Japanese guitars. It is sold as is due to age. No case is included
