    Description

Rare Vintage 1965/66 Ibanez/Kawai Made Westbrook Branded Model 994 Big Horn 4 Pickup Guitar.
Here's A Rare Oddball Axe The Has References To Ibanez, Kawai, & Hoshino.
I've Never Seen Another Like It In The 55 Year Old Love Affair I've Had With Guitars.
The Styling Is That Of The Ibanez Made Bison Style Model 994. The Westbrook Brand Is Documented As
Being Made By Kawai, & The Red Sparkle Pickups Were Made By The Tama Factory For Hoshino Co.
I Have No Knowledge What The Westbrook Brand Refers To. It
Could Have Been Made Specifically For An American Distributor Or A Store Chain.
All Original Except For The Bridge & The Vibrato Arm, Which Is Ultra Responsive, & Works Well.
    It Will Need
A New Set Of Strings, & The Individual Selector Switches Are In The "On" Position At All Times.
The Contacts In The Switches Will Need To Be Pinched, So That The Contacts Will Turn The Individual
Pickups On & Off. The Volume & Tone Pots Work As They Should & Are Fairly Noiseless. It Looks As If One
Volume Pot Controls The Two Neck Position Pickups, & The Other Volume Pot Controls The Neck Position Pickups.
The Body & Neck Are Both Solid M*hog*ny, & The 21 Fret Fretboard Is Early Ros*wood,
Probably Brazilian. The Back Of The Thick Profile Neck Could Use A Bit Of Hand Sanding
To Smooth Out The Bumps & Glue Line In The Finish. This Bad Boy Could Easily Be A "Hound Dog Taylor Style"
Bottleneck Monster With Some Heavy Strings & A Raise Of The Non Original Bridge. The
Pick Guard Does Not Have Any Cracks Or Screw Blowout, Which Is Very Rare For An Old Guy Like This One.
There's Lots Of Very Cool Character & Mojo In This Old Boy, With 50+ Years Of Real Roadwear, Scuffs,
Scratches, Dents, Dings, & Abrasions, & It Is A Solid Guitar That Has Another 50+ Years Of Service Left In Him.
I Am Digging Out All Of My Old Vintage Big Horn Guitars That Were Made By
Ibanez & Others. Some Are EZ Projects, That I Do Not Have The Time Or Energy To Finish.
    I Also Have Listings For A 3 Pickup Hy-Lo & A 4 Pickup Maxitone(Rare Ivory White).
Many More 3 & 4 Pickup Vintage Japanese Axes Are To Follow, As Well As 6-8 Vintage
    335 Style Japanese Guitars.
