    Description

1960's Teisco Ranger Gold(looks like Aztec Gold) electric Guitar in mint condition(closet classic style, played a little, few marks but sitting around for decades unharmed). Guitar has had one owner who purchased it new in the 1960's.  He said he did not play it much and gave up playing guitar and left it in a closet for 40 years.  Based upon the wear of the frets or lack there of he is telling the truth about not playing it.  This is indeed a closet classic if you will. It's like something out of a time machine.  There is a slight amount of wear to the frets. I play guitar and have been playing for 34 years. Trust me I know how to file frets to the board and have handled many a guitar like that where it didn't even appear to have frets.  Guitar has a little bit of a musty odor.  I did air it out today for a while trying it out.  It' not that bad.  Guitar of course has open gear tuners. I personally hate those because of tuning stability and the low gear ratio.  However that's the kind of tuners found on guitars like this.  Pickguard is mirrored.  Potentiometers are scratchy. Guitar has one pickup. I would not call it a high output pickup.  It's also not very bright.  By that I mean I had to adjust the tone on my amplifier.  In my video I have my Dr Z Z-Lux dimed on the front end with the boost switch active(think it's 20 DB's but can't remember).  I'm not playing too hard.  My amp will clean up and it did.  I was getting some pretty raunchy sounds out of it earlier.  Guitar action is low.  It almost feels like it was just set up.  It's very balanced and notes are pretty true.  Maybe a little bottoming out on the top string at times.  Could be the way I play too.  Few marks on the back of the body(probably a belt buckle). Case is a chipboard. Has a leather strap in there,  cheap cable,  chord chart.  Guitar probably didn't come with a case and the music store married a shipping case when the original owner bought it.  Lightweight guitar at about 6 lbs.  If you collect Japanese guitars and especially Teisco Rangers, this is the guitar for you.  You'd be hard pressed to find too many 60's guitars in general that weren't played.  I think the strings have been changed recently or at least feel pretty new.  Most guitars like this would have found their way into a boy's bedroom and would get seriously trashed and have all plaster marks.  This is a rare find, one of a kind.  Shipping will be free and it will ship insured.  Care will be taken to package it well though.  I've packaged many guitars over the years.  The case is flimsy but it's just a covering,  part of the packaging.  Ohhh my Dr Z amp is not included nor is Michael Myers(mask and or body ha!).  I just had to do it. I'm silly like that but an excellent shipper just the same with decades experience. Shipping cost includes bubble wrap,  tape and other packaging costs associated with shipping a relatively large object.  Girls not included,  shown here for illustration and entertainment purposes.
